Trail cam recommendations

Im currently running moultrie edge trail cams but I'm tired of them! The solar panels suck! I should have known when I asked the guy from moultrie why I need batteries with a solar panel and would not get a straight answer that there was something fishy. Anyway I'm looking to get something different. What are yall running?

Stealth cam cells and moultrie regular cams.

Regular cams are Browning and I have one Gardepro. Cell cams are Tactacam.

If I were buying new cell cams I would look at the WiseEye cams.

12 Moultrie cell cams right now. Most have solar panels and have been running 365 for a couple years.

Yeah, they require battieries in the camera but I haven't changed them in 2 years.

I don't have enough experience with cell cams to have an informed opinion. But for SD cams I am a fan of GardePro. Browning is actually some of my least favorite until you get into their high end models. I've got a tote full of midrange Brownings I won't use because I don't trust them or don't like the pic quality.

I bought two of these last year for $29 each, now they are $35. I didn't want to spend much money in case a bear or person got ahold of them.
I feel like they performed well for the price.

Browning, Spartan, GardePro. Have little experience with any of these in cell configuration. All mine are SD Card versions.

I have a Moultrie Edge I'm running and have had no problems with it. I do not use a solar panel, just the batteries. It has been setup and running continuously for over a year now, taken over 300 photos and the batteries still have 80% life in them.

I have 5 tactacams and 1 Browning. Sometimes the tactacams stay up pretty good and sometimes the batteries drain quick. I've experienced 1 tactacam so far this year drain batteries within a week. I have 3 Brownings on hand ready to replace it when I get tired of it. The 1 browning I have now does good on battery life but tactacams pics are better. But I'll eventually replace all of mine with Browning. They had a customer appreciation last Sunday where you could get 2 Brownings for $129 and I bought those.

Im going with cell cams again. I used to run browning regular cams prior to getting the moultrie cell cams and loved them. After running cell cams ill never go back to regular. I appreciate everyone's input. I used to run a 35mm camtrakker camera back in the day when they first came out! holy smokes they were expensive and had to wait a week to see the pics ha ha I know I'm showing my age!

10 years ago, I was a 100% Moultrie man. But after half of em would die in less than a year, haven't bought any more.
I currently buy Muddy or StealthCam. Hard to beat for the price. I have one WildGame that's still running after 10 ish years. All are SD. No cellular.

you're lucky! unfortunately I can't say the same thing. i guess you have to have complete and direct sunlight to keep them running off solar.

My Moultrie were peice of junk to. Wish they weren't for the price point. But they sucked.

I have 11 Moultrie edges and edge 2s. No issues. Half are 3-4 yrs old. Bunch of guys I know use them without issues. We all had tactacams first. Moultries get service where the tactacams wouldn't. I use cheap Amazon batteries and get 3-4 months easily. Some on scrapes or trails will last all season. I don't have experience with other brands except Tactacam and Spypoint. Can get the edge 2s for $80 for two pack now that the 3s are out. Until I have any issues I'll stick with what works. Good luck with your decision.

Nope. All of them are in the woods. I do place them on the tree in a manner that promotes good sunlight though.
