Trail Cam Question

Hey guys, im not sure if this question has been posted already or not, but I need some help. I went off to college in another area of Tennessee and the hunting dynamic is very different here. I have been trying to use my trail camera, and corn to attract deer to it. However the land that I have permission to hunt has enormous corn and soybean fields and my little corn pile is just not drawing them in. I was wondering If a mock scrape would be more effective in producing buck pictures? I was also wondering if the mock scrape would repel mature bucks because it may not be natural for this time of year? Any advice would help.

I'm not sure if it will attract any and it's a little early for a doe in heat mock but a buck urine scrape may make a deer pause in front of the camera. I would guess you would get more pics along a field edge or a good trail this time of year, though.

In the past, I would have said that September would be too early for mock scrapes. But recently I've seen several trail-cam users experiment with them even in the summer, and got very good results. So mock scrape away! You probably won't get maximum usage at this time of year (mid-October through mid-December is peak usage of mock scrapes), but it certainly won't hurt.

In the future, develop salt licks in late spring and keep them refreshed through the summer. In areas where deer (especially bucks) won't come to corn, often they will visit salt licks.
