I have a Traditions 54 cal. sidelock that I have a problem with. It shoots a 1 inch pattern at 50 yards and usually drops them in their tracks. Shooting is not the problem.
The problem is cleaning the dern thing. With a patch and cleaning jag, I can clean the barrel almost all the way down. But at almost the very bottom, there must be a spur or something that I keep getting the cleaning jag stuck on. Sometimes so bad that I have to unscrew it and put a little bit of powder through the nipple hole and shoot it out!
Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of this problem? If I had a file that fit on the rod, I'd try to file out the very bottom, but I don't think that would be good for the rest of the barrel.
What do I do since I can't remove the breach plug?
