Finally getting to buy a tractor to handle food plots and garden choirs. With the topo of my land (wooded ridges), a 4x4 compact is probably my best bet. My budget is tight so I am asking for cost conscious recommendations.
 
love my little 2220D 4X4 Yanmar. It's small enough to get into my hard to reach food plots. And has enough h.p. for a 5ft bush hog, and 5 ft disc.
Also has a FEL which really comes in handy.

It's called a renovator. Really nothing more than a box blade without the box.
Does a great job of ripping up new ground and pulling up roots.
 
I'm no expert but if you're on a tight budget I would consider a used diesel tractor with hours under 2500. Stick with a major brand name. Don't be overly impressed by fresh paint job. Paint is cheap. Save your $ for your mechanical implements, I'd rather buy them new.

Good advice. Depending on your budget, some dealers offer packages deals. You get your tractor, plus choose from several additional options (trailer, bush hog, disk, etc.) I've seen 84 month 0% terms on loans. Again...it all depends on your budget and situation. Just shop around.
