Heh, I had seventeen deer within 30 yards Saturday morning and I came out empty handed. 12 were doe and fawn which I myself consider off limits at this time unless I can differentiate if a doe is not with fawn until later in the season (a request from the wife), one spike came in just as the sun rose and I didnt feel good about the shot(when I was aiming all I could see was brown, the deer and ground were the same color and I held off), and two small bucks, in which case one saw me while I was drawing back on the other and blew. They bolted. Not to mention while hunting Sunday morning I was checking college football scores on my Iphone and realized that same spike just walked underneath me and walked off down the hill. :-x I was actually mad when I got out of the woods Saturday but soon realized how grateful I should have been to enjoy watching the deer and the peacefulness of a great morning outdoors. I feel lucky we have the opportunity regardless of the hunt.
