Can't believe it's been this hard to find a place to hunt in Lincoln county I moved here 3 yrs ago still no luck with private or leased land to hunt.

I can... I can put you on the lease we lost, cost you $18 per acre now, mostly cattle land with a couple of small wood spots..

It's getting very hard to find any private land or willing farmers in this area that want to lease. Alot due to the lack of respect from past hunters. . Seems as if everyone and their brother are hunting these days. Just years ago the farms bordering our farm didnt have a soul hunting. Not a bad thing it's just hunting has became such a popular activity.

i couldn't live the life i live now without purchasing farms in the past. every single one has went up in value ad they all sold the 1st week on the market. sell your truck, boat, utv, motorcycle, iPhone etc and buy sa piece of security.

Funny thing about your post is most people dont actually own the things you say to sell. American logic is to pay for things you don't own. I cant speak for the OP but your suggestion would get me no more than $5000 and no way to commute anywhere. Just hunt public.. its just as good if you aren't too lazy to find a spot. Keep looking and save money in the meantime. Nothing wrong with leasing, but Redblood is right.. you aren't going to get that money back.

Everyone says that, but hunter numbers are actually on a slight increase since 2012. Female hunters, foodies, and nontraditional hunters are credited for this increase. Leases are hard to come by because the average TN hunter is a suburbanite looking for hunting land within an hour's drive. In middle TN, you're hard pressed to get more than an hour from the suburbs in any direction, so most or all of the land is constantly leased up with increasing prices.

I'm not 100% sure what you are saying but I think it makes more sense now. Are you saying sell all of the stuff and buy a cheaper vehicle which would leave me $3500 to make a first payment on the land? It really all depends on the OPs financial situation and ability to make payments after that though. He would only have one "sell to buy" option.. beyond that it'd be a waste if payments couldn't be met, right?

Private land is hard to come by. If somebody is willing to lease, they want a fortune these days. I'm debating buying a little chunk out in middle TN where there are more deer. The numbers is our area are substantially lower to many spots in Unit L.
