And planted some Early Girl tomatoes. If it works out I should have red
Tomatoes on May 5th. Also planted cabbage and Brussel sprouts on March 5th.

This is the earliest I've ever planted.

You got them outside??? You using plants or seeds?


Don't think seeds will germinate just yet but if yesterday's temps hold up you should be okay.



We are starting our seeds indoors.
 
Hope you have a tent to put over your 'maters. Or paper bags-I've used gift bags-or newspapers, something to keep the frost at bay. Looks like the last gasp of winter is headed our way.

I've had peppers and tomatoes top kill from frost and resprout before. But I like to get in a little turkey hunting and fishing first.

25 years ago we used to have very warm March and you could get away with warm season crops being planted. not anymore or into the future according to the long range climate forecasts. so far its held true but we will see. good potatoe and cabbage weather though. its no coincidence that the only people in europe that survived the little ice age grew potatoes.
 
I got my hydroponic setup going last week and planted 20 tomato plants in it, i think the freeze we had a couple days ago killed 19 of the plants. If they not dead they sure are wilting up BAD
 
I don't feel "comfortable" planting tomato sets until early May....been burnt more than once with late cold snaps.
