I wanted to let folks know about a service I offer to help folks who have too many deer. Be it a hunting property where the doe population needs to be adjusted to a quality deer or trophy deer buck to doe ratio, or farm land suffering crop losses due to high deer populations. We are here to help the hunters and landowners with the hard work portion of their deer management plan. Our service area is western middle Tennessee and we are able to appropriately staff for any size property. I have a group of experienced and well vetted hunters who are very capable at removing deer and also making sure none are wasted. There is no charge for the service.

Some do. The TWRA has a sign up for the juvenile hunt on private lands. I know here in middle Tennessee a couple years ago there were around 30 land owners offering their land for that.
 
You may not be liable for the bullets but if you bring some gang bangers into the neighborhood you can bet your relationship with your neighbors will take a turn. Seen that one happen more than once.

I agree, take a youth. If this is a issue for some people I'm sure we could get a list going on this site of youth hunters wanting to take a doe!

Through years of hunting together. Being as I would be the party responsible for the actions of the entire crew, I would not have anyone hunting with us that I would not trust with anything that I have. We take a lot of work off of the landowners and their farm staff (if they have any), but we are there to do a job, so I cannot have folks in the crew that are not trustworthy and competent at what we are doing.

Getting youth involved is a great idea and I fully support it. In our situation, this is a different game than casual hunting. We are given a number of deer to remove on a limited time frame and dates. Good weather or bad, wide open. Lots more logistics to deal with vs taking a few kids out to kill some deer. Hunting with kids is not going to accomplish the goals of the landowners. Some of the landowners do not want youth hunters in the field knowing that we will have the property saturated with shooters and a lot of powder being burned. If the property needed a few does shot and we had all season to do it (which is the case in farmland / crop damage scenario) we could involve youth or new hunters . Herd balancing hunts on high fence or other hunting properties requires a shock and awe strategy, working around the owners schedule. Quite challenging to coordinate and accomplish. The photos show that we don't mess around, these logistical issues are here what keep most properties from achieving their doe management objectives.

This sales pitch is for famers or landowners who listen to their farmers complain about crops being damaged (in most circumstances that I can think).

That does not necessarily mean that you won't have to spend a lot of money on a lawyer. Not liable is not the same as immune from being sued. I would guess that immunity also does not cover gross negligence or criminal negligence which would likely be the angle that an attorney would shoot for. My thoughts - I am very liability sensitive. I was not an attorney.
 
I understand the service being offered.
Might not be an issue the average TnDeer member is dealing with but for someone who owns a large property and has a biologist come in and develop a management plan, in some cases, the plan includes a reduction in doe numbers. To balance the herd and to help reduce the impact on the habitat.
So if a father and son were managing the family farm and a biologist or private land manager came in and said you need to take 20 or 30 does....that would be a daunting task....the service would complete this task in a much shorter period of time..meeting management goals quicker...again, not something the average TnDeer member is dealing with...but I understand the bussiness model.

Seems like I've always heard you need to dry the meat after spraying them off with water. I may be wrong. @BSK was this something you mentioned at one point ?

As far as vetting. I get you trust these folks. But do you run background checks, range time, safety training, blaze orange for visualization of hunting party? Just curious so please don't take this offensive. Or is it just a bunch of random country boys looking to shoot stuff ? Not really my style of hunting but I do understand the logic of herd management.

After you kill, say 20-30 deer, are they donated to needy families or do the shooters/land owners keep them ?
