The description of the product says "imported" but that question was in addressed in the Q&A and it seems customers are receiving a Bend OR manufactured optic...from what I understand Amazon has a decent return policy so why not? I've also heard that there is an obscene markup on optics so this may be legit if you're comparing the price to other retailers.

thats a heck of a price on that scope and should put Leupold back in the conversation with other scopes that you could get for that price that are as good as Leupold,,

could be the competition in the scope market has brought the Leupold price down,,
 
Leupold has hurt themselves in the last 10 years by putting out crappy scopes and not keeping up with the wants and needs of the consumer, their market share has shriveled up somewhat, they are not what they once were.
 
Leupold still makes a heck of a scope,,it is just the other brands have caught up at a cheaper price point and Leupold is gonna have to come down to keep selling scopes,,
it has taken them a while to offer some features that others have for the PRS and steel plate shooters but their scopes will still perform as good as ever and their CS is second to none,,
