I've got the Dunlops on my bike right now. I usually get right at 10K on the rear and 16K+- on the front. I've switched over to Metzlers in the past but I was still running stock on my current bike and had a flat. I had 9.3K on the rear and same on the front and ordered a set of Metzlers to replace the OEM Dunlops. Going home on I-40 and picked up a 16p nail at 75 mph in the HOV lane. No shoulder to the left and no one would let me over. Had to go almost a mile to get across 5 lanes and onto the shoulder. The nail entered the tread and exited the sidewall.
Way after hours and I called Bubba from Boswells and he had someone come out to the Mt Juliet Exit and pick up my bike and take me home. Had 9451 miles at the time, just about to change tires. Glad I didn't, rather ruin a worn tire than brand new. They stock Dunlops obviously and I kinda felt obligated to buy their tires. Metzlers came in and I've been storing them and turning them trying to make sure they didn't set up and get flat spots.
I ALWAYS stop and inquire if I see a fellow biker on the side of the road. 9 times out of 10 they stopped to use the phone or something. One thing I learned, it doesn't go both ways. I was on the side of the road for almost 2 hours with my helmet on the ground in distress position, flashers on and rear tire obliterated. No one even slowed down. Every brand of bike passed me and numerous vehicles with biker stickers of every brand.
