I have killed coyote while deer hunting, but I am seeing a big increase around my farm lately. Also I have lost a couple of my son's chickens and now my wife's dog is missing. I suspect coyotes to blame. I killed 2 deer this weekend and both gut piles were gone by morning. I have never set out to just hunt coyote, but believe I am going to have to start. I have a small farm but take care of a larger adjoining property. I can do whatever I want on the property, except take people hunting (landowners rules). I would love to take someone that knows what they are doing, but I would hate to risk losing valuable farmland if the owner found out. Since I am going to have to take this endeavor on by myself I would welcome any tips or techniques. I want to do more than just kill the occasional coyote. I will probably be cranking up in late December or January. Thanks

My novice advice would be to spend my money on trapping supplies instead of e-callers. I do both but trapping gets more for me than day calling a night animal.

I second what planking said. If you use e-callers you will educated them very quickly and, you will not kill near as many as you would with snares and footholds. I would find some game trails and run snares. I would also invest in a few footholds, get some mark june lures (my favorite for coyotes) and trap away. E-Calling/Calling is fun but, it only works when you are there pushing the button on the remote or squealing on the mouth call. Snares and foot holds work 24/7. Good luck!

Use a pvc pipe as you would a dirthole, put lure in the pipe and some sheepswool, set the trap where the coyote looks in the hole and you got him.Im using double sets all this year to catch their sidekicks. The 2nd set should be 10 feet away and use a flat set.Im using a little fox piss on my flat sets, all dogs are jealous animals.
