I have the 130 and 168 TTSX. I have the 130's loaded in 308 and 300 WSM. I can't wait to get to the range.

I also have the 110 TTSX in 270.

Barnes has revolutionized the shooting/hunting industry.

I shot a 7 point with a 168 TSX (not tipped) Mon afternoon. He was quartering away and it went through his heart and exited through the middle of his shoulder. It left a half-dollar size exit wound and a massive blood trail but the odd thing is that he still ran over 50 yards. So far, both deer I've shot with the .30-06 and 168 Barnes have run 50-85 yards, but every deer that I've shot with my .243 and 75 grain X have dropped within 10 yards, usually right in their tracks. Weird

It might have something to do with the weight. The 168 would be like shooting a 180 grain bullet of another design. heavy bullets tyically do not open up much on thin skinned animals. I shoot a 284 winchester exculsively with Barnes X bullets and use the 150 grain. I shot one at 180 yards the other night like you did and it ran about 40 yards. Blood everywhere, but who cares- dead is dead. I've probably shot 200 deer with the X bullet and hanve never lost one, and with all but one got an exot wound. the one that didn't I shot virtually head on at the base of the neck and found the bullet in the off side ham right under the skin. Penetration is NEVER an issue with the X bullet.

Today I took my metal detector down where I shot that deer on Mon and found the bullet. It was on top of the ground but under leaves about 15 yards behind where the deer had been standing when I shot him. It didn't open up as dramatically as the .243's usually do but it did the job OK and punched through his shoulder on exit.
It weighs 163.1 grains now so it lost about 5 grains of copper off the tips I guess.
