I am putting together a multi purpose model 700 in 6mmbr. Going to put a new trigger on, which one do you prefer out of the two. Thanks for any input....
Timney or Rifle Basix trigger

I have Timney, Rifle Basix, Jewell and Shilen triggers. Of the two you asked about, I would recommend Timney wholeheartedly over a Rifle Basix. The Rifle Basix has been nothing but problems for me where it has developed creep that cannot be tuned to reduce. I won't buy another Rifle Basix. The two Timneys I own have been good triggers as have the Shilen and the Jewell.
Thanks for the info, I have just about decided on the Timney. I know Jewell and shilen triggers are better but just dont want to spend the extra money on this rifle.

i dont care for the timney at all. dont get me wrong it is a good trigger way i mean way better than a factory trigger.
i like the rifle basix better i had one on a cdl 270 and it was awesome never an issue with it

I have a rifle basix trigger like it and have no problems.
For those of you that say you've never had a problem with a RB trigger, how much have you used it? I too didn't have any problems with it until after I'd put 1500 rounds down the barrel. That's when the creep started. In speaking with my 'smith that built it, he stated he had built many "working" rifles and a common complaint that came back were the triggers developing creep. He had mentioned that he has since gone to Timney and will not install anymore RifleBasix triggers. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't experienced it first hand.

Timney for me. I have them on M700 and Swede mauser. Plug and play, with factory settings working perfectly for me.
I bought a used Savage with a RB-1 trigger. Along with the safety, what a PITA to remove and reinstall. Then multiple adjustments, locking set screws into place. I'm ready to toss it.

Well I let mr. big talk me into a Jewell. I just installed it, feels good at 1 lb., a little more stock work and a scope is all I like.

after you use it a while and get used to it you will adjust it down and you will wonder how you ever got by without it,,I dont have anything to check the pull weight on mine but it has the lightest spring installed and is adjusted as low as it will go and not slam fire,,
