Time to Plant!

Well, at least for me.

I've found for my area (middle TN), the best time to plant the fall cool season veggies is August 1. The soil is perfect for germination and will stay that way for a while. By the time the weather cools off, the plants will have had a great head start.

This weekend, I'm planting all my lettuces and spinach and broccolinis, etc. Good luck!

Oh my! Thanks for the heads up, Gil. I'm still waiting for my first ripe tomato from my June 30th "Spring Garden"! LOL

I may have to clear out more space and get some chard in the ground, maybe some sugar snaps.

We planted our greens last week after digging our potatoes, the rains have them up and looking good. The way the weather has been this year I'm thinking early fall.

Yup, seeds in the ground. It may seem too hot, but now is the time. Everything's already breaking the surface and looking good.
