Spoke to a friend of mine today who drives a logging truck and he stated that the prices have gotten pretty good on hickory and hackberry (for crosstie use) and the folks he logs for have shifted to cutting this and other pulp wood instead of your typical high value stuff because folks are sitting on their walnut, oak, etc with the bad prices. He has never seen these kind of prices on pulp. I am going to look into getting a few spots down maybe this summer if I can line someone up. I had some spots that I was going to cut pulp and lay it down for thickets but if I can get someone to come in and haul out how nice would that be!
