just dont buy one with the cheap, crappy feeling plastic stock

All synthetic stocks feel just like that! :D
HL
here fixed it fer ya :D maybe most as im afraid to touch new guns, they stick to me & try to follow me home

I have 2 gripes about Tikkas.

1. The plastic stocks they use suck, they are flimsy and very noisy in the woods
2. They only make it in a long action. There is no point in buying one in a short action caliber(243,308,7mm-08, etc) because they weigh the same as the long action calibers.

Other than that they are accurate and reliable guns.

i almost got a tikka when looking the other day but didnt like you cant top load them (you can but it is a pain in the A) and what really killed it for me was the plastic mag you get with it.

I have a tikka 270 that shoots better than my buddies sako 85 308, yes his is pretty but mine cost 350 on sale and his cost 1800. So it's a matter of what do you really want. A tikka is a excellent rifle period.

If tikka brought back the laminated stock and chambered more short action calibers, it would dominate the market in my opinion. Yes the savage is a dominate factor and I also am looking at one in the 6.5 creedmoor. It also is a great rifle.

let us know about the Creedmore,,I almost went that way on my last buy,,but I have enough rifles I cant afford to shoot and got the 223.

I would really LOVE to build a 6.5 Grendel on my wifes Model 7,but she would probably kill me,,

I own one in 270, consistently pumps out 3 shot groups at 100 yards under 1/2'' with factory ammo.I will be buying another one, and you can buy them for under $500. it also has a very good trigger!
