Tikka T3??

I had mentioned the Weatherby Vanguard and Remington 700 in my previous post, but people rave about the Tikka T3 rifles. Anybody have any experience with them?

Thanks...people rave about them and they are very affordable. I have worked the bolt on a few in the stores in the past and like the way the action feels.

i know 2 people that bought them for a elk hunt,1 broke,here is a older review about them but it could be used for any brand out there.

The Tikka T3 is a good economy rifle for the price. I had a T3 synthetic 270 WSM. Aesthetically there is more to want such as a better plastic stock that is not so loud and the blueing isn't as good as it could be. I would opt for the stainless version. The wood stocks don't have the checkering like other stocks. The action lengths are all one size, so the advantage of a short action rifle is not there.

However, the rifles flat out perform. They are lightweight and shoot very well. The finish of the barrel and metal work is very well done. The trigger is very nice. Every T3 I've picked up and looked at are put together very well. I'd take a T3 over any Rem 700 any day of the week.

I have a T3 lite in stainless in 30-06... I bought it to hunt with when I do not want to take one of my blued & walnut guns... i.e. when the weather is going to be bad...

However, the problem started when I shot the thing.... Good night is that thing accurate. If the three shots are not touching and making 1 big hole at 100 yards, I goofed... Very light gun, plastic stock but it will be one of the very last to ever leave... Scary how accurate the thing is out of the box and I have never had an issue out of it.

They are shooters. I know of a 308 that was bought brand new and would put 5 shots in 3/4" all day long. Go for a stainless 270 or 30-06. Pick up an extra magazine too, they come in handy.

i've got 2 one in the 6.5x55 and the other in a 338 federal
they are going to have to pry them out of my cold dead fingers
they have the slickest action of any of the rifles i own and are two of the best shooters i own

Picked one up in stainless finish .270 caliber today. Putting a Zeiss Conquest on this baby...I'm going to be ready to rock this season!

I will try to post pics when she is up and running...special ordered the base. I am getting the DNZ one piece base/rings. They don't need to be lapped and suppossed to be tough as nails!

I put one on my 270 M70 last year. Very impressed with it. Don't forget the loctite on the bases!
