Haha yes I am! My 10 year old son really got into it last year. Just hoping he can get one of these or the tall 8. We got a couple blurry pics of him this week. He's bigger than all 3 of these.
 
U sure that's not 4 nice bucks? 1st pic is a wide 8pt 2nd pic is a 10 & 3rd pic looks like an 8 with long brows and 4th looks like a big 6 or 7pt. I would be tickled with any of them. Nevermind I think the last 2 pics are the same buck.

Regarding the top pic of that widest buck, I believe his inside spread is around 20 inches. Could be a little more, can't be much less. How old do you think this one might be? Any pics from last year?

Also, as a buck gets older and his antlers gain mass in future years, even though his outside spread might become wider (mainly from beam diameter increasing or "mass" increase), his inside spread could shrink a little, never mind his overall score and rack size becomes greater.
 
As far as I know, this is the first time we've ever seen him. I'd be guessing if I said an age. Hoping he is 2.5 or 3.5 so if he does make it another year he can start gaining some mass and tine length. Definitely the widest buck we've gotten a pic of.

Nothing about that pic would make me think he could be any older than 3 1/2, and the fact you've never seen one that wide before, makes it more plausible he could be just a 2 1/2 now.

Much of the time, antler width is a genetic characteristic that can be near fully expressed at 2 1/2. This buck might not have stood out last year as a 1 1/2, and if he's only a 2 1/2 now, he probably was in his birth area at least a mile away this time last year. Most 1 1/2 year old bucks will seek a new core territory over a mile away from their birth mother's core area, and they commonly do this after antler hardening their first year of being an adult (1 1/2 yrs old in the fall). Thus, I would be very excited to see this one suddenly appear, as I do believe there's an excellent chance he's only 2 1/2.

If he's only 2 1/2 and should survive to 3 1/2, I would expect significant increases in tine length, maybe even going from 8 to 10, and most significantly, an increase in mass (antler diameter). I wouldn't expect him to gain much in width even if he lives 3 or 4 more years, but then he already has it and then some. That extra width alone makes his antlers unique, as only a tiny percentage of bucks have that genetic programming for that much width. And he has another "feature" which I particularly like: Tall brows!

Just as a side note, a review of the B&C record book (minimum 170" net score to be recognized) shows that most "record" bucks have an inside spread of less than 19 inches. Just one more tidbit indicating just how relatively rare is a 20-inch or better inside spread.
 
My guess on the spread is between 21" and 22".

Thanks for the reply Wes. I can't say that he will get a pass if I get a chance at him. He's gonna look really big if he's in the field. I'm sure y'all know the feeling. We do have a few other pics of him that I'll try and load later.
 
I agree...I guess we'll have to wait and see if we can put our hands on him. Hopefully when he's a year or two older.

I would drop that 6 in a heart beat. I would def make room on my wall for somethin that unique
