cold weather and north winds......here in Haywood County....things a bit slow the past week around here...Since MZ started, I have seen only ONE small buck chasing...and he didn't seem to be too interested....I hunt in a very well deer populated area. if the rut had started, I would be seeing many more deer and many more chases....next week should be much better..imo.

Looking forward to the change...!

I'm rolling the dice and holding on to my vacation days until after Thanksgiving (Shelby/Fayette/Hardeman Counties). Since Thanksgiving holiday is so late this year, I'm hoping the weekends and holidays will let me get in on the start of the chasing phase, because there's too much competition for the Thanksgiving week at work for vacation approvals.

Nobody asks for the week after, though :)

I usually don't see the older deer on there feet until The last few days of November and beginning of December. I think the week after thanksgiving will be a wise choice.

I hunt in Haywood County as well. Nov. 9th weekend I saw several nice deer cruising, but too far to get excited about. Nov 16th weekend things were very slow, but I managed to take a decent deer. I suspect things to start getting right any day now too! This is the week we all look forward too.

Last week was awesome. This week kinda slow but I did see the second biggest deer of my life but alas he was too far. Im hoping this weather will ratchet them back up to move in the daylight. I think its gonna be good.
