This is weird. I've actually "limited out" on bucks for the first time ever. It is no secret. I am a "deer hunter," not a "buck hunter." And I actually have not deer hunted that much since Tennessee wildlife commissioners reduced the buck bag limit to two per season. But since I moved to property where I can hunt out the backdoor, and be a little more selective in what I shoot (but not TOO selective), I have actually killed two bucks now. This buck (yesterday) was moving fast so I had to make a quick decision. If I'd had more time to study him, I may have opted to let him walk and not "end my season." But obviously, I didn't.
I've had this buck on camera at least two years. His right side was just always buggered, never produced much. I guess some might call him a "cull buck," so I culled him.
But now no more bucks for me, and my freezer doesn't need any more venison. I'll have to do a little research on TWF's "Hunters for the Hungry" if I want to continue to hunt. Weird feeling.
