Thinking of a project.....Squirrel Meat.....

Here in Morgan County there use to be a family that the only meat the childeren could eat was squirrel meat. Does anyone know of any families that are like that now?

Thinking of doing a project with a local church and sportsman in the local area. If we do something it won't be until the fall.

I have heard of babies that could only drink goats milk.. but.. kids that can only eat squirrel meat?? what the.. I mean.. uhh.. what am I trying to say here.. My kids love them but I cant see how eating a squirrel could be that much different than eating a chicken, or a rabbit .. or a.. cow??

If I remember correctly the kids cruff is talking about was allergic to proteins in meat. Squirrels were the only kind of meat that didn't have what they were allergic to.

My aunt used to go to church with a kid that could only eat squirrel meat and I would send her as many as I could get.

You are correct. I am guessing the kids grew out of it? I havent heard anthing else about it in a few years.

When I was a kid, I knew of a pregnant lady that could only eat squirrel meat. She said anything else made her morning sickness much worst. My uncle and I used to take squrrels to her. We always wondered if her baby would end up craving them later. :)
