The big boys that is. Saw the biggest 8 pt I've seen this morning, of course he was cruising thru at 45 yds in the trees, but he's the biggest bodied buck I've seen, and had a good rack to go with it, guessing him at 5-6 yrs old.

I saw an abundance of does this morning and one spike. I counted around 20 does and most with fawns. The wind shifted on me and had my wife needing me to take some stuff out so I quit a little while ago.

Yes they were seen 14 total. Saw 3 bucks, one spike horn one that stayed in thick cover but sure could see horns.
The one I was hoping for stayed just far enough out of my comfort zone. He was big buck looked to be a 10 point. He was pushing the 5 doe.
It was a great morning hunt 33 degrees with fog.

Saw two. Beautiful morning
Let me clarify that this was the oldest biggest 8 pt I've seen in the woods personally before, a heavy antlered stud of a buck. ML or rifle and he would have been in the back of my truck! Went back to a different stand with the wind shift and didn't see a single deer. I also realized that just bc it's only one morning of 30 degrees, it's still freezing temps, and I should have had on a thick outer layer! I was shivering till that buck showed up, then another type of shivering took over! :D I saw 2 does and a fawn first, then a lone doe skirted thru the bottom of the holler, then 10 minutes later the buck came stiff legging it on the same trail the lone doe came thru on. I'm of the mind he was trailing her. It's early for out here, but only by a couple weeks from usual observations.

I sat till about 11:30 and got skunked. A doe blew a couple ridges behind me and i saw a total of 34 turkeys (15 bearded) in two different groups. Spring is certainly setting up to be fun.

Good to hear somebody is seeing a good buck. Flat out getting my tail whooped right now. 3 does 50-60 yards Friday evening. Moved trees Saturday evening and no show. Frustrating. I swear these mountain deer are just drifters. I had a camera with 300 pics all through late August to mid September. Card pull had 0 activity from the past 3 weeks.
Missed my target buck yesterday afternoon, he came in at 5:50 pm eating white oak acorns. I had to watch him at 40-45 yards for 30mins. At 6:20 he finally came in where I could get a shot. It was low light and I ranged him at 32 yards but I was actually ranging a sapling in front of him that I couldn't see through my range finder. He was about 35-36 and I shot right under him. That one is gonna sting for a while

They are starting to move a little better than they have been. I missed that buck yesterday and had another mature buck on camera in daylight on the 16th. One that I haven't had on camera since he had his velvet.

Work cancelled us today, so I went back out there. Saw 8 totalled, one small racked 6 or 8 pt. I saw him coming in, eased up and got my bow, then saw another one in front of me. 3 were coming down the ridge in front of me, so when they were busy picking, I turned back to see where the little buck was, and he was gone LOL. It still amazes me how they can slip in, and out, without being seen sometimes. :D
