Tyler and myself finally got these in the ground. I really thought it would be much harder than it was. I knew for sure it would be nothing but rock but actually it was decent soil. Great to be outside.

Btw, The sawtooth was 19ft tip-to-tip and the Red Oak was 13ft. I am ready for a two more sawtooths that size. It never ends. Ha!

He really is a big help. Him and his buddy are coming out next weekend to dig 10 holes for fruit trees and 4 for those smaller sawtooths.Sunday they will help me cut and lift 4x8 sheets of osb up into the loft. I guess Saturday night I'll break down and buy them a steak. :grin:

shoot, he knows better. I barely get to drive it. She liiks better in it anyways.

he said around 7 years old. He told me it did produce a nut last year. I have been told that with it being transplanted that it won't produce this year but I don't know if that is true. I do plan on watering it every weekend to help it.

Cool deal Rich. I planted 4 sawtooths in my back yard back before Christmas that are about 10 - 12' tall. Interested in seeing how long they take to produce. I staked them down and ran chicken wire around to keep the deer from rubbing them. Of the 13 seedlings I planted a few years ago I have 2 left.

BTW, I'm in Franklin usually once a week so we need to get in touch with PMC and go to lunch sometime.

good deal I have looked at several Lowes around West Tn and can't find any sawtooth oaks bought some at Lowes in years past but havent found any since
