Sitting in stand waiting for daylight thinking and wondering has anyone tried soaking a used thermocell pad with doe scent and using it in the thermocell during the rut?

They make a unit for that but I don't see why the regular unit wouldn't work as well. I tried the one designed as a scent dispenser but never had any positive results with it. Turning scent into vapor has been around a while. I have 4 different systems all designed to do it but when I've had any luck with scents it's always been using them on a drag rag or hung near scrapes.

The heating scent idea has been around since I started hunting in 1973. They used to make a small metal hand warmer (Joni) that had an aluminum clip on it with a sponge inside it. The idea was to saturate the sponge with a scent, fire it up, and the heated (vaporized) scent would disperse better and farther than just a scent hung out there. As far as scents go I still believe in that theory. Back then I only loaded mine with estrous scent and when I wasn't on stand I carried it around in my pocket. Consequently I spent all of the rut walking around smelling like a doe ho, lol. I saw a lot of deer.
