…better stock up if you hunt in SW TN. Working this weekend at the farm and the skeeters were on an absolute tear. I mean bad, and we got 3 full weeks to go.

Guaranteed! Some friends in north MS have been running them last few days with temps soaring in the upper 80s.

And this was steady movin around, runnin saws, dragging downed limbs outta roads from the ice. If I stopped moving or stopped swatting I got bit. Sitting stone still at the base of a tree without thermacell and deet spray 3 weeks from now…fuhgetaboutit unless we get some sort of prolonged deep freeze.

I spray my stuff with Sawyer's permethrin a couple days before the season then each hunt I spray Ben's Picaridin followed by some Deet 100.. pretty sure I show up on radar but that combo has worked very well for me for a few years now

Hunt the swamps mid day, that makes a WORLD of difference compared to hunting them at first light

Along these lines, my buddy listened in SW TN river bottoms yesterday morning at daylight. He text me a video of turkeys ground gobbling at 0730AM and asked me if I could hear the gobbles over the mosquitos buzzing.
