The Smith...

Had me a hanjerin to go float the Smith Fork. Me and the Jedge, we went lookin for places to launch and take out. Found two perfect spots. Then, we went looking for the landowners to get permission.

Found the first one, he reads my column and said, "Sure, go anytime you want." Then, he told us who owned the other place and took us and introduced us. Same thing. It aint always that easy.

Weather permitting, we are going Sunday.

caught my biggest smallmouth there years ago, i remember it jumped out of water around 20 times. hopefully its still swimming around there somewhere

I first started fihsng the Smith almost 40-years ago. One of the best smallmouth streams in the state.
