The Other Side?!?!?

Sitting here waiting for this rain storm to push through on opening gun season morning and I ponder….What do the game wardens think about the opener of gun season? Do they dread it? Do they wait for it in anticipation like the hunters? Do they just sit and wait for a horror call to go and investigate? Do they go out in problem areas and set up sting operations? Do they sit at a checkin point and drink coffee,eat donuts and wait for a nap? I know it varies with whatever one's job description is but I'm genuinely curious as to what's the POV on the other side.

Opening weekend of 1982, from 4pm on Friday until 6pm on Sunday I worked 40+ hours. I got home at 4am on Saturday morning and was back out before 8am that morning. My partner and I picked up 8-10 illegally killed does that weekend, caught spotlighters, etc.
Times have changed since then. When I retired in 2019 it was about like any other weekend as far as calls went.
