Dang, with that coleration on those drum, I would be saying big smallmouth if either rolled up on top 100' out. I might even utter world record smallmouth.

Those are the most bronze fresh water drum I think I've ever seen.

Great pictures, John!

Found 65 degree water all over. In my opinion, that is way too warm for this time of year. Not good for the spawn if it strays that warm and then gets warmer.

That one is half the weight of the one I caught a few years ago. That one is just 17-pounds. stll, on 6# line it makes your arm hurt.

Dang, those look more like the coloration of redfish. I wouldn't say they're purty, but they ain't all that ugly neither. :D

I bet that was a ball. You may have beaten my small fish of the year award, but I think yours is foul-hooked. My fartsniffers actually eat my dinky little baits.

just curious, what was your smallest fish? Not sure here but I think my smallest that I did not foul hook was about 3" long. Smallest that I foul hooked was a 1/3 inch bluegill fry.

Don't know - maybe an inch. I catch a lot of minnows on tiny dry flies in the Smokies.
