He is unquestionably the best college football coach of all time. And that's coming from a real 'Bama hater.
Now please retire.
I believe these folks would be driven to excellence in any endeavor.I wonder what the top football coaches would do for a living if football didn't exist.
Saban, Patreno, Spurrier (I'll even throw Neyland in the discussion for the Tennerrccee fans) etc... Obviously they are great leaders, but would Spurrier or the others have been the GOAT if they were car salesmen, or accountants?
Me too! Although I don't hate them quite as much as I hate the Gators. I really, really hate the Gators.Regardless I still hate em! LOL![]()
Saban has certainly raised the bar and forced everyone else to play better football. Every Team and every coach is better because of Saban and ALABAMA football for everything he has done for the sport.I need to wash my mouth out after this but Saban is the best in my opinion. Lots more parity today and he's got it done. I know bama fans want to wear their houndstooth hats but I don't think the playing field was as level back then when Bear Bryant won all of his championships. Regardless I still hate em! LOL![]()
I know you're a little older than me but I grew up when there was no east and west divisions and the UT /Bama game was always the 3rd Saturday in October. Played them every year no matter what. The wins on both sides have normally gone in streaks and the Vols are on the wrong end of a long one. Florida wasn't a thought until the divisions came into play. Don't get me wrong I don't like them either but to me it will always be bama that I don't like more.Me too! Although I don't hate them quite as much as I hate the Gators. Oh I truly get the history. But I didn't become a UT fan (I didn't even live in the state or own hunting property then) until I think it was the '85 season. My girlfriend at the time went to UT for her Masters degree, and I would drive over from Bowling Green to visit her on weekends. I had never, NEVER seen anything like game day in Knoxville before! And all of the excitement draws you in. I think the final straw for me was the day The Vols beat 'Bama after a 10+ year drought. The craziness on The Strip that night was something to behold. I saw the goalpost crossbar being carried into a bar!I know you're a little older than me but I grew up when there was no east and west divisions and the UT /Bama game was always the 3rd Saturday in October. Definitely a great atmosphere. I had season tickets from 1996-2001 once my daughter was born. I go to one a year usually although I went to 4 last year. My daughter just graduated from there in the spring and started grad school this summer so I had more of a reason to go.Oh I truly get the history. Once I became a fan, it wasn't long before the Fulmer-Spurrier battles began. I learned to truly hate the Gators. And it didn't help that one of my hunting buddies (my cousin) is from Central FL and a huge Gator fan. I had to listen to him gloat in deer camp year after year.![]()

Never gets old5,789 days :) Series since 1901, Alabama leads 58–38–7
That's me, I think us older East Tennessee folks hate the gators moreMe too! Although I don't hate them quite as much as I hate the Gators. I really, really hate the Gators.
Saban is the GOAT without a doubt.
That said, 15 years at Alabama and if he beats Texas in week 2, he will be 3-0 in OOC games away from home. That's amazing.
Not surprised that flew far, far over your head. Do you have a gif for that?
Perhaps you could color some pages from various coloring books and use those to explain it. He is from alabama. Not surprised that flew far, far over your head.
