what distance do you normally see bucks trailing does?

what is the furthest you've suspected that a buck was trailing a doe. I have heard hunters say that a buck came by trailing a doe or doe group half and hour or more....

I normally see them right on the does or not at all......I did see one earlier this season about 30-40 yards behind three does, but they winded me before I could get a bead on him..lol..

any thoughts on what distance means as far as how hot the doe is....? Does closer mean hotter????

I had chase this am with about the same 45 mins to an hour. Nose on the trail with no let up. oblivious to the world. 15 minutes on the spike that was chasing him.

Last year gun opener I shot a young buck with his nose to the ground at 815 am. I had set up before dawn and never saw the doe so it was a few hours later that he was tracking with his nose.

This year, the farthest behind that I saw was maybe 20 yards. Most recently, there was a big and little doe hanging around for a little while before a buck showed up and chased em off. The first buck I shot this year was right behind 3 or 4 does, not chasing but grunting.

Guess I haven't been hunting long enough to watch a doe come by and then see a buck a while later on her trail.

Yesterday morning at 7:05 am I had a buck come through with his nose to the ground and not paying attention to anything else. He was heading straight towards a known bedding area Bout 4 hundred yards or so from my setup. About 45 minutes later I notice a doe running through the woods and he was about 20 yards or so behind her. I never saw her until he chased her back in front of me. I'd say she went into the bedding area at or before daylight but he came through on her trail at 7:05, found her, and was wearing her out.
