I have seen deer moving at the same time cows were down. I can see cows from my stand in the field sometimes, and have seen them laying down, and seen deer moving at the same time. A cow lays down to rest !

There is only one time there is a corelation between deer and cow movement. That is when bot are being chased.
I figured you where going to "when there cooking" lol

Barometric pressure is a big factor. pressure drops cows heavier on their feet lay down. rises they stand more. researched that trying to understand them danged ole bass.

Along that line of thought, I worked at a marina that had a fish tank with bluegills, bass, and a couple crappies. The old men would come in to study those fish trying to decide if it was a good time to go fishing. They would on occasion call ahead and ask detailed questions on what the fish were doing if they were on top or bottom or whather they were swimming around. I know when we feed hay in the winter the cattle get up and immediately begin to feed, same for my kid's goldfish tank, the fish get real active when my wife comes into the room with food. I might have to call my Dad tomorrow to feed the cattle while we are hunting.

Funny...been a running joke with me and my dad for years. I told him about it and he always laughed. However he is on the back end of his hunting "career" and I am in my prime, real into it, hunt every chance I get. I can say I have noticed more movement in my area when I see the cows up and about that same morning. But I have also killed deer and drove by 50 cows laying still on the way home...depends on time of year, rut, situation, who knows what else.

Either way every time we hunt I comment on the cows I see on the way home depending on what they are doing.
