I got my new Elite Energy 35 about 6 weeks ago. I have been working on it when I could and knew I pretty much had it where I wanted it. This morning I shot some Broadheads for the first time. I shoot Thunderhead 125's on Easton 2317's. I ordered some new XX78 Super Slams with the Digital Camo. I fletched them with an Arizona E-Z Fletch Mini for Crossbow bolts that I modified a little to take the 2317's. I use Vinyl wraps that I cut myself, and fletch with Orange and White Blazers with the extra helical the Mini Fletcher give me.
I knew the bow was shooting well I also knew the proof would be in the Broadhead Flight and Groups. At 20 yards I shot at separate dots and the B/H's shot perfectly and in the same section of the dot that my field points shot. That was good! Then at 30 exactly the same. Tight groups and perfectly matched to my F/P's. So at 40 I got cute and shot a couple of F/P's to verify Point of impact, Shot two B/H's at the same dot...... Mistake!!!!
The first B/H hit exactly at 12:00 on the 1 3/4 inch dot. I thought at 40 that was good. The second shot created a funny noise and I saw shrapnel scatter on impact. I said, "Uh Oh!"

Those 2317's are tough, strong arrows.... but they are no match for a Thunderhead 125. I have never shot a true Robin Hood in all the years I have shot a bow (except one with a crossbow, I don't count it). I have gotten really close several times! This is one more close but no cigar incident (at 40 with a B/H). A heavier B/H Target and I would have gotten that Robin Hood today!! LOL
I think is is funny how the B/H split the shaft into three sections with a vane on each section. The base of the nock (orange chunk at the bottom) fell out of the shaft, after I pulled it out of the B/H target.
