My boy's teacher assaigned the kids to write about the best day of their lives...here's what my boy wrote!!!

The Big Fish

Will, get out of bed! Pawpaw said. I got out of bed on a dark Wednesday morning and ate breakfast. After I ate we went to the car and drove to Pawpaws friend, Jims house. When we got there, we got all of our gear, and the bluegills for bait and put them in the car. I said to Pawpaw, Why are we using bluegill? He said, Because stripers eat bluegill!

When we got in the car, we talked about what we were going to do. I slept part of the way.

When we got to the lake, I got into the boat and we backed it into the water. When everybody got in, we went to a special spot in the lake. When we got there, I threw my line in the water and waited. A few minutes later I started feeling bites. I got the fish in but it wasnt the one we were looking for.

An hour passed. I started to feel a big jerk. I knew then that it was the big fish. I was trying to get it in, but it just kept going farther and farther in the lake. I finally got it in, and I was really tired. Pawpaw and Mr. Jim laughed. We fished until it was 9:00am.

We went to Mr. Jims house and put the big fish in the car. We thanked Mr. Jim, said bye, and went home.

When we got to the house, my friend Derrick was waiting for me. I showed the fish to him and right then, Pawpaw said, We need to go. Why? I asked. We are getting it mounted! he said. For real? I asked. Yes, lets go!

That was one of the true and best days of my life. The fish was 41 inches long and was 30 pounds!
