Hunted public land 9am-2pm, changing spots, listening, calling. Heard one gobble the entire time. Had to call between gusts of wind. Tried to sneak on 2 red heads in a field, got busted, unknown if they were jakes or toms.

Drove home and was getting ready for a 15 minute nap before work. Looked out in the back pasture and there's 2 longbeards with a bunch of hens. Just watched them and decided to leave them for another day...don't you love how it works :D

Those birds should be scared with you around.
Nah. I'm waiting for a mean boss bird so I can try that fanning deal for once. Like to hunt some of my old public honey holes too which is why I haven't gone after the backyard birds yet this year.

Same deal here. Hunted all afternoon, heard one gobble and on the drive home had a tom almost fly into my vehicle on a backroad. Gotta love it!

That can be aggravating! On a couple of occasions I've hunted hard all day only to drive out and have a bird roosting in a tree over the road... both times at Anderson Tully.
