I planted a few more rows of beans on Saturday and on Tuesday afternoon they were already 2 inches high.... (I planted Blue Lake green beans...) I really amazed me how fast they came up. Watering & Rain, warm temps and lots of sunshine and prayers must be the answer... I hope and pray these do good. I only need about 6 more quarts of bean put up so we are planning on giving most of what we pick from these 70 foot rows to Second Harvet food bank in Knoxville and to some familieswe know that are hurting right now... Just really amazed me how fast they came up..

I am not sure is most of you know this, but if you have extra from your garden, most of the local food banks will take it. We give to Second Harvest here... we take it to a local distribution point (local church) on monday morning and they distribute to the community with the can goods

blue lakes are good green beans, thats what i have in my "garden for 2". i planted 2 rows of 20' and they have done well as close together as i planted them(looks like 1 big row). i picked about a half a bushel yesterday. just make sure you keep picking them when they put on and in this heat ive been having to water mine. i also side dressed mine with 10-10-10. good luck with them.

Very cool!

I've got a church in downtown Houston that feeds the homeless several days a week.

They don't mind me dropping stuff off at 5:30 in the morning on my way to the fire station, so I figure they're putting it to good use!
