Several months ago, I bought some 165 gr Nosler Accubonds with the intent of making a deer load for my DPMS GII .308. I started with a COAL of 2.83 which is the max that would fit in a Lancer magazine and worked up groups of 3 with Varget, RP brass, and CCI200 primers. I wasn't trying to shoot one-hole groups; I just wanted a solid 1-moa hunting load. I was very fortunate to find two consecutive powder charges that produced half-inch groups.
I adjust my scope .2mil right and .1mil down and loaded up 20 rounds at 44.5 which had an average velocity of 2500 and an extreme spread of 14. That should do the trick. I have my data entered into Ballistic AE, and I'm confident going into Kentucky's gun opener in a week or so.
