That Old Skunked Feeling

I've hunted twice from a stand and a buddy of mine has hunted 3 times from his. My camera 20 yards from my stand had 2383 pics in a couple of weeks and his had 1900+ in his area. I've seen a total of 2 deer from mine and he's seen a total of 2 deer. Most of our pics were at night but alot were during morning shooting hours. Thirty minutes before I got to my stand yesterday morning I had (after viewing my pics) 4 bucks and several does standing within 5 yards of my stand. It just seems crazy with all those pics and movement that we pick the exact times and days to hunt that the deer decide NOT to move in those locations...and no, the deer aren't picking us off. Ticking us off maybe, lol. This seems typical of most of my bow hunting. My particular stand site will see alot of action during the rut hunting from the same tree and at the same distances. Come on rut!

Lull maybe? I haven't seen a deer my last two times out either.

Had pics of a nice 9pt during bow season in the past. He was coming in every couple of days between 2 and 4 pm like clockwork. Hunted in there during muzzleloader every evening. Never caught a glimpse of him. He walked within 30 yards of my dad opening morning of rifle season on the other side of the property. Wild animals are unpredictable no matter how well we think we have them patterned.
