Had a fine turkey season all the way around. My two turkeys came on really fun, memorable hunts. We made one quick out-of-state jaunt, and my dad, who is more of a fisherman than a turkey hunter, even joined us for the trip. While there, I had the great honor of presiding over my nephew's first turkey, which he shot at 12 yards with him, my son, and me all sitting against the same tree in a beautiful little block of Kentucky timber. I had several other great hunts along the way that didn't quite end with a kill, but with priceless memories. My oldest son still has tags, and we still have turkeys to hunt, but they'll have to wait till next year. My season officially ended at 5:08 yesterday evening. God is good, and my cup runneth over. Lord willing, I'll be able to share pics of my newest son's first turkey in a few years.
