Hunted a stand I hung on private land back in august, today it paid off. He crossed the creek to my side, shook the water off, and then walked under my tree and I shot him at 5 yards.

Arrow lodged in left shoulder joint and broke off, no exit hole, almost no blood trail. Just walked where I heard him run and found him within less than 60 yards.

First deer on T-day for me. Hope y'all have a good thanksgiving

Regardless of age or score, soon as I saw him I knew i would shoot him. Have seen very few good bucks this year... I let a better one get by me last week, but very glad this guy came by me today. And I'm glad I finally rolled out of bed after hitting snooze 2 times. Tuff to get up early and hunt on off days, with a new job that has me up anywhere from 2 to 3 am Monday-Friday.
