Tarpon off a kayak or paddle board is a real thriller. I tried it once and said never again when the fish I hooked was eaten by a pack of bull sharks about 15 feet from me. Thank goodness it wasn't a hammerhead or I'd likely have been in the water.

All day. I used to have a touring that I used for exercise on the lakes in Knoxville. These sit on tops are great

Yikes! Those big hammerheads are scary!! Maybe I'll rethink that!!!

Those types of seats make all the difference in the world with comfort. I have a kayak and it's just a plastic molded seat and after about an hour tops I feel like I have running up my spine.

I'm glad you like it! That thing has saw many panfish and yellow perch come on board. A 15-20 lb blue cat will take you for a ride. I can only imagine a redfish in it!

No orange flag needed. I wear safety green shirt (Hivis Yellow) or hunter orange and matching hat. You can see me from 1000 yards

not in a bass tracker before it gets on plane and trimmed out. it rides bow high. although i look around quite a bit before taking off i almost hit a kayaker last year at dusk. they also need a headlamp or a light when the light gets low, which most around here dont and probably dont know its not required.

One of my favorite fish to target when tarpon aren't around.

I really enjoyed bringing a rod with DOA shrimp and a few beers up in the tower of my boat and cruising the pot lines in Dec/Jan. I would sometimes run over 100 miles in a day.

Would appreciate your stating the exact brand, model, specs of this your new "craft"!

Last time I attempted a "sit on top" kayak, about 30 seconds later, I found myself submerged in the icy cold waters of the Clinch River! Have since had no desire to try that again!

But reading your posts here, maybe my friend's "sit on top" was just an older, less stable one.

Be careful storing your yak on saw horses long term, molded plastic tends to dent real easy over time and you might create ridges/bumps.

I loaded it up on my golf cart last night. Even Maurice ( he is about a 100 year old deer) came over to see it and thought I was crazy.
I ran to the end of the island and up a creek that splits the island with docks. Caught one trout in a short trip.
The kayak is a NATIVE SLAYER propel 10. 10ft with peddle drive.
The peddle drive is 20# and removable for easier transport, even on a cart! Ha!

Ps. I'm thrilled Crow Terminator bought a bass boat!

Or fAt man in a skinny boat! Way easier to get over the mountain than a 20 ft center console!

I went driving Saturday because of the big winds and got permission to put it in about 100 yards from a really great flats that's tough to get to with center consoles . Next time I go down about 5 # of Benton's bacon is going over to that fellows house!

Would you take a float down the Clinch is that?

Wondering about the durability of the peddle drive going over rocks, as well as maybe getting tangled with some lily pads in some of the places I like to bass fish.

Wondering about the durability of the peddle drive going over rocks, as well as maybe getting tangled with some lily pads in some of the places I like to bass fish.

I fished it in milfoil and other grass. The way I did it is raise the pedal drive up and use the paddle when in the weeds. Simple rule of thumb, if a boat with trolling motor can't make it through the grass. The pedal drive won't either because it's just like a trolling motor blade and lower. It's definitely for open water areas but can go in pretty skinny water.

That's kinda what was figuring.
But, I can easily reach & remove what wraps around a regular trolling motor.
You can't "reach" the pedal drive while fishing, right?

Oh yes you indeed can. The drive system pivots up/down. Everything is accessible from the seat. It pivots up into the cockpit at the console between your legs. Very easy to reach and do any weed removal or emergency maintenance...and you are talking to a guy who can barely reach my shoe laces to tie them lol. If it's easy for me it's easy for anyone.
