Looking for recommendations on an outfitter/guide service for Texas rios. Guided or semi guided, preferably semi. Thanks in advance

Correct - KS is now 1 bird (hard to believe compared to what it was like 15 to 20 years ago) but non-resident is quota draw. Nebraska is 2 birds but limited to 10,000 annual non-residents on a first-come first serve basis. Oklahoma is over the counter but 1 bird limit. IMO - Another victim of YouTube/social media hunters and the "chasing 49" hunters. I hunted Kansas and Nebraska when you never saw another turkey hunter and it was primo. Suspect the PNW will be the next to fall victim.

Yes sir you are correct. I've heard stories about the glory days of the Midwest such as Kansas and nebraska. Unfortunately I was in elementary school when that was going on. I am guilty as anybody watching the YouTube hunters but they've never made me have the urge to go burn a spot on public

I started turkey hunting in Kansas in the late 90's. Incredible ! last time I visited was 2012. I would go mid week.
I never saw another turkey hunter there is the 14 yrs I hunted there.

I went to Oklahome two weeks ago turkey hunting. Didn't see another hunter.
I guess 1 bird limit slowed hunters down there.

Everybody is chasing the newfangled Hotspot on utube. OK ain't it

And that's why TX is still great.... mostly private

20y ago the public on OK, KS, NE had just as many public birds as private... but the public birds have been wiped out. Still great hunting in those states on private.

I saw 11 toms in a 3h hunt on SD private 100ac 2w ago. Only 20 miles from the public Black Hills.

But 20 miles is to the moon and back for a turkey when they have everything they need where they are.
