Climbed tree this afternoon hoping for a perfect video of a doe kill over a salt lick.
Around dusk, I finally heard a deer coming down the trail. Here he came, a young basket rack 8 point. Lots of potential and a pretty set of antlers. I had killed a decent buck there on t-day, so I wasn't too eager to shoot a smaller one.
He even stopped to eat salt for a little, giving me that picture perfect broadside shot. I just sat there and let the video roll, till he walked under me and out of sight into the thicket.
Maybe a doe next time...
