Tellico WMA Wears Bend Unit

My season is over but just wondering if anybody has experience out there? I was following the map and was going to check out the portion by the railroad traks but there were cattle on it so kinda confused me. Didnt see any posted signs though.

My son and I went on the wears bend unit for the first time today down near Bakers creek cemetery. We are going back in the morning. I have seen people in the section with cattle all season. Deer hunting and running rabbits. We have not been on the part with cattle yet, but will be a possibility next season.

They lease out the property to farmers, kinda stinks having cattle on it but the other half has row crops every year so that's a plus... There definitely a few deer in there but it gets a TON of pressure

I went out there last week. shortly after opening day of squirrel season hoping to kill a few bushy tails an ID a good spot to hunt deer from. There is now a large red and white sign at the gate - The gate is closed and the sign says Federal Land, No Trespassing. not one to use profanity but Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot ! What is going on ?

When you look it up on "TWRA lands open for hunting " - It is still listed as Tellico Lake WMA & Wears Bend Unit ,,,

I emailed the TWRA manager yesterday about Wears Bend. He said it's open same as statewide.
