Just a heads up for those who may not have heard. As of closing time 3-30-2020, the Tellico Beach drive in will be closed due to the virus fiasco until further notice. As has been mentioned several times, that area has seen a huge spike in tourists/refugees and since it is so popular, the owners decided to close down to help stop potential spreading. They had tried to comply with CDC recommendations but people kept finding ways around them. It was always my weekly tradition to stop and grab 2 slaw/chili dogs after trout fishing. I went by there yesterday on the day of closing and the parking lot was full, and cars were backed up going and coming, pulling off anyway they could to go stand in line to order. I was going to stop but after seeing that I said "nope". That doesn't leave much for people to eat at in Tellico now....probably a decision to help shoo away the huge waves of people coming there.
