Thinking about buying one and wanted to know if you guys had any input about the gun.

I haven't shot one yet but it's on my short list. I like the feel of the stock, the bolt seems smooth.
i was down to that gun or the Howa and went with the howa, no knock on the TC the howa just fit better.
all i have heard about the Venture is it is a nail driver! has a 60degee bolt and a decent stock. my only issue with this is the plastic detachable magazine.

I have a T/C Venture in 280, purchased just last year. A real tack driver, even with factory ammo. The barrel has the 5r rifling which is supposed to aid in accuracy but for sure makes cleaning easy. Barrel is 24 inches long, which I really like.
The stock is okay. If I could find a replacement stock, i would get one but I am kind of picky on stocks. The plastic magazine is a disapointment but so far it is holding up. It can be difficult to remove-there is some kind of trick to it, my 15 year old son mastered it but I haven't. I can tell you, it won't fall out in the field. I've lost 3 count em 3 browning magazines.
Trigger is nice-very crisp.
The bolt handle (on mine) keeps developing a few spots of rust. All other fit/finish is nice and holding up.
I got mine at Gunbroker (9 auctions, phew!) delivered including all expenses, for less than $445.
All in all, an accurate rifle, plenty of punch, a few questions remain that only time and use will answer.

TC has a recall on the venture. Sounds like the same issue remington had with the 700.

I have a Venture in .308. The rifle will group five different factory loads under 1 inch. The best thing of all is that the scope setting will place any of the five different loads within the same 2 inch circle. In other words if I run out of Federals and go to Winchesters I don't have to resight my scope. Never saw a gun do this in my life.
The plastic detachable mag is a non issue. The recall is now a non issue. Venture Triggers are some of the best factory triggers out there. One HUGE selling feature for me was that they are 100% US made.

The T/C recall for the Venture and several other T/C brands was for rifles produced prior to (I believe) 11/1/2011. Dealers had to return them. The web site has complete instructions and identifying serial numbers. The site also has the information you can use to determine if a rifle was recalled and then repaired. From what I can see, recalled rifles had the defective trigger assembly completely replaced. I won an Auction at Gunbroker (4th attempt) and when I called in to pay for it was told of the options. I opted to cancel the deal. When the dealer got more Ventures, on about the 3rd attempt I won. The rifle did not have the marks that identified it as being repaired.
