What kind of accuracy can one expect out of an Encore rifle? Been wanting a new deer rifle and wouldnt mind having an encore for turkeys so thought I might could knock out 2 with one. Not really sure about the caliber. Something in .270 or .280 maybe.

i love my encore. 270 with 130gr hornady sst and its a tack driver. thats one gun ill never get rid of.
Is it a stock sporter barrel or one of the aftermarket ones?

My 243 and 50 cal ML shoots 1 hole groups at 100 yds. My 460 S&W will shoot 1" groups. The barrels are factory tubes.

I had an Encore chambered in .270 and I never could get it to shoot well enough to suit me. It was not a heavy barrel though. In the Encore's defense I did kill 3 deers with it but I traded it off for a bolt gun.

I have 5. I have had some issues and others are tach driver. But I have had fun figuring out the "sweet spot". One thing I have learned is I preferr barrels from other than TC.
