TC called today

after buying a encore fx and having nothing but trouble with it on breech plug coming out after it was shot they called and said it will be here tomorrow cant wait to get it and see what they have done the guy on the phone said they cleaned the threads up put a new breech plug in and lapped the barrel. dont under stand why they lapped the barrel unless the breech plug was not drilled deep enough but we will see. what do you guys think why they lapped the barrel?

They may have saw a burr, rough spot or a little rust that was going to cause you trouble. Everyone I've heard of dealing with TC has said their customer service was great.

Correct me if I'm wrong is lapping a barrel is that just polishing?

And for there customers service they was nice on the phone but it took them 11days to email me a shipping label. I sure hope it is fixed I love how the encores fill

Pretty much just polishing. It removes any rough spots that were left from the barrel making process. Rough spots in the barrel can cause big accuracy issues over time since each time the gun is fired the rough spot will collect copper. Most high end barrel makers hand lap all their barrels before shipping while most "affordable" gun makers don't.
