Sorry about the quality. I think it was raining at the time. Just wondering what y'all think about the height of the right main beam. We've always had some bucks with tall racks but this one seems crazy tall to me. Anyone else get pics of ones like this?

He's definitely more tall than wide and taller than the norm. I believe if you were to get a straight on good quality pic, you'll see that his left side is about as tall, if not as tall. I think the camera angle and the way he has his head turned/cocked makes his right side "appear" to be taller than it is. Good luck with him this year.

Just based on these pics, Andy says about all that's definitive.
If it's a 3 1/2 or 4 1/2-yr-old buck, possibly more near average than above for that age class, but not to say this isn't a buck with lots of potential, especially if he's 3 1/2 (or younger). Just saying not enough info to make a fair assessment.

Agree. But then each buck's antlers are about as unique as a fingerprint, and maybe around a fourth of them are more similar to this one than different? I would think his G-2's may be near finished? I couldn't call this one crazy tall, but then he's not done growing.

Looking forward to seeing more pics of this one. :) He's a unique and nice looking buck.

Hopefully we will get a good pic of him in the next week or so. He just looks a lot different (taller) than any bucks we've seen. Maybe he'll make it another year or two to see what he can really do. But if he shows himself when my son is with me, he may not be so lucky.

Do hope.
Just usually hard to make very accurate age estimates before mid-October.

Take him (or try) at what age makes you happy. I was just stating earlier that there wasn't enough to go on to make a good assessment regarding his age, and not knowing his age, really don't know if he's a spectacularly antlered young buck (which could become much larger) or a below average antlered mature buck (at or past his prime).

Here he is from this morning. Definitely doesn't look as tall in these and both sides are pretty close. Good call Wes!

With these, he's looking more like a 4 1/2-yr-old buck. :)
Still hard (for me) to age a buck during the summer, and I would not be shocked if he's actually either 3 1/2 or 5 1/2. With him being so photogenic and little prior history, that raises the possibility of him being 3 1/2.
But I do think he's likely 4 1/2, slightly wider and slightly taller than average, although I really don't know what the average 4 1/2 should look like in your area, thus, I'm really still "just guessing". :D
