Went to do some fire lapping today on a 204 test barrel. Load with 25 gr of IMR 4895 40gr vmax. THe last shot knock the extractor claw and really cratered the primer hole on a couple of loads.
Talking about HOT!!!!!

wow,,but that doesnt sound like a real hot load,,but it has been a while since I shot any 204,,
I would have to look but I used H4895 and the 40 VMax,,shot really well with 322 and the 32 gr bullets also,,I did blow some primers with the 32 gr load trying to get factory ammo speeds,,with the powders we had 5-6 years ago 4050 fps is all I could get with the 32 and a 26 inch bbl,,4100-4125 and primers would just disappear,,the 204 really spikes fast,,you can go from safe to total failure in 1 gr with some loads..

Even though these were light loads, after discussing with Pete we have concluded that it was the old powder.

I've seen ejectors blown past their retaining pin on several occasions, but that was using proof rounds!
