I saw this post over on AR-15.com

We were talking about Federal XM-193, 5.56/223 ammo.

I predict that before long we will be wishing we could get it for 50 cents a a round. I called Cheaper Than Dirt to get a quote on some Brown Box, and it was nearly a buck a round. Other places are selling regular LC for 75 cents/round. I know one place where you can still get it loose in 1000 round cases for 45 cents a round, before taxes. I just grabbed quite a bit of it. If I come into some more dough, I'll get some more.

Cheaper Than Dirt is the one of the last places I would buy ammo or anything related to hunting or shooting. I think they compete with Gander Mountain to see who has the highest prices.

To bad the people in the gun industry are as crooked as the people in the oil industry. I expected more from them!!! Ashsmed to be a shooter!!!!!!!!!

It is only going to get worse. Cause the AMMO companies are not going to increase production and have to hire people with the economy the way it is now.

I read that the ammo manufacturers are running 3 shifts, 24/7, but just can't keep up with demand from the civilian market, DOD, and Law enforcement.
The CEO's of all the major ammo companies said it was hard to predict, but they were thinking that it would be at least a year before production caught up to demand.
Every serious shooters I know saw this coming, and stocked up well before there was a crisis.
